Three tips to Eating on Thanksgiving Day without the Guilt: IIt’s that time of year again, the day everyone looks forward to because the meal is just so insanely delicious, Thanksgiving.It’s that time of year again. The day everyone looks forward to because the meal is just so insanely delicious, Thanksgiving. I don’t think I have met anyone who does not like this day. The one consistent concern is the abrupt change in diet, even if it is only one day. So I have decided to provide three tips that will allow you to eat and enjoy without the dreaded guilt that usually follows.

  1. Eat Breakfast

    Make sure you eat breakfast on turkey day morning so you are not starving for the big meal. I am guilty of not eating breakfast. I don’t know about you, but when I am starving I eat like I haven’t and won’t eat again for a week! If you aren’t famished then you are more likely to not eat as much. In addition, you will be able to exercise a little more control when it comes to loading up your plate!

  2. Drink Plenty of Water

    Along with lots of food usually comes a little bit of alcohol which can be dehydrating. Dehydration often masks itself as hunger. So if you aren’t drinking plenty of water to go along with your alcohol you could become dehydrated.  This, in turn, is mistaken as hunger which results in, you guessed it, more eating!

  3. Portions and Vegetables are Key

    I know the stuffing and mashed potatoes are the stars of the show on Thanksgiving. They can be enjoyed but in moderation. Instead, try smaller amounts of the not so good stuff and additional servings of the veggies and meat. This will fill your belly but leave you feeling satisfied and content!
