Top 3 Ways to Embrace Turning 40 Guess what? I am 40! I just celebrated my 40th birthday and I am proud to say I feel completely the same! Birthday's have never been a big deal to me.Guess what???? I am forty! I just celebrated my 40th birthday last week and I am proud to say I feel completely the same! Birthday’s have never been a big deal to me, I really feel like age is just a number. Every time I hit a milestone birthday I never felt that age and I think that is what it’s all about. I know I definitely don’t feel like I am forty, that’s for sure! So this got me to thinking, why is it that forty is no big deal to me but to others it is? I came up with the top three things that helped me to embrace forty and not dread it.

3 Positive’s about being forty

Okay, so here it is. My top 3 ways to make forty not so bad:
1. Take care of yourself
2. Have the right mindset
3. Enjoy the freedom this stage of life gives you

Top 3 countdown for being forty

Let me start with the first one. When I say take care of yourself, I don’t mean you need to be this super fit person. I just mean create a healthy lifestyle for yourself. It’s all about balance! These days eating healthy is not that difficult and there are some actually very delicious healthy meals out there. And it’s not like you need to cut out all of the guilty pleasures either. I live by the 80/20 rule. I eat healthy¬†Monday through Friday and then allow myself those yummy but not so good for you foods on the weekend. This way you are taking care of your body but still able to enjoy eating.

The same thing goes for exercising. Do you need to workout out every single day? Heck no! Does your workout have to be a hardcore program? Absolutely not! Just get moving!!! Even if that means taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking a little further away at the grocery. You just have to start! Your body will thank you, trust me ūüôā If you need a little guidance, just click here, I’m here for you!

Now on to number two. It’s all about how you think and what you say to yourself. It took me years to figure this out! I was the¬†queen of negative thinking and it did not do me any favors. When I finally decided to change my thinking, which by the way was only a couple of years ago, my whole world changed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I flipped a switch and all of sudden my mindset was different. It took time and a lot of reinforcement but it was so worth it! Your mindset affects so many things that most people don’t realize. I know I didn’t. It affects your mood, relationships, basically everything.

I am sure you can imagine how your thinking can affect every aspect of your life. If you think negatively then you probably aren’t going to get off of your couch and exercise or choose the healthier option because you will talk yourself out of it. There are so many ways to change this and it’s never too late! Just click here to get started!

Finally, number three. I don’t know about you, but at this point in my life, I have more time for myself and¬†my relationships. My kids are getting to the age where they are more self-sufficient so I don’t constantly have to be watching over them. Oh, and it’s easier to find people to watch them because of this which means my husband and I¬†can go on dates more often! Having this freedom to reconnect with myself, my husband, and my friends more often is something that I am looking forward to and know I have definitely earned! This also goes back to mindset, when you take care of yourself, your mindset changes for the better!

Forty is the New Twenty

These are my reasons why turning forty was not a big deal to me. I am actually super excited for this stage in my life and finally being able to enjoy all I have worked for over the past 10 years or so. I hope that if you are in the same boat as me this helps you to be able to see all of the positive things that come with another birthday!
